2013 Biennial Conference: June 13 - 15, 2013

The ARID Board is actively seeking motivated and talented people across the state to serve on the 2013 Biennial Planning Committee. Be a part of the next Biennial in beautiful NW Arkansas! LetÕs start planning! There are so many things to do to make a Biennial happen. Please consider Chairing or becoming a Member of a committee. If you are interested, please email Laney Yates, VP/Biennial Chair at laney.yates@arkansas.gov. ItÕs going to be great because YOU will be a part of it!

An ARID Board member will be selected to serve as a liaison to each Standing Committee for communication purposes with the Vice-President/Chair. The committees work as a cohesive team with possible overlapping. The brief descriptions below may be modified as further needs are identified to seamlessly complete tasks.

Program/Entertainment: work with VP/Chair and the Program Committee in the selection of and contracting with presenters addressing the Òto be determinedÓ theme; plan activities for the banquet and/or general sessions; and work with the Professional Development Committee for paperwork related to CEUs. Registration: keep records of registration fees and number of participants; manage the flow of conference registrants; work the registration booth; and work with the Hospitality Committee regarding ditty bags.

Interpreter Coordination: work with the Program/Entertainment Committee to determine interpreting services and obtain the appropriate and qualified individuals to provide the necessary services.

Hospitality: work with the Registration Committee regarding ditty bags; develop welcome baskets for presenters; and develop a welcome and introduction for each breakout session.

Fundraising/Sponsorship: funding support is a number one priority; solicit sponsors for ARID and the conference training and in-kind donations; and work with the Hospitality Committee regarding ditty bag donations.

Professional Development/CEU: work with the Program Committee to obtain presentersÕ instructional forms for content and measurable goals for RID CMP/ACET CEUs; obtain presenter vitae and bio-sketches for the Program Book; develop RID Sponsor Form; and submit documentation to RID.

Technology Committee: work with the Program Committee and with the VP/Chair regarding equipment needs for each session; develop a schedule for set-up and break-down of equipment within each session; and work with the Student Volunteer Committee on procedures for the delivery/retaining of equipment in each session.

Silent Auction: solicit donations for the Silent Auction; solicit possible Live Auction items for the sole purpose of fundraising; and work with the Fundraising and Hospitality Committees for ditty bag donations should a company not have the appropriate items for a Silent Auction.

Student Volunteers: work on an application process for student volunteers and their responsibilities; work with the Hospitality Committee for a student volunteer in each session as a Ò runner,Ó manage the CEU forms, assist with distribution of handouts, etc; have a student volunteer to work with the Registration Committee and the hotel desk for the invitation of guests; work with the Technology Committee as ÒrunnersÓ to help move A/V equipment to appropriate places throughout the Conference.
